Colormagix logo’s of the past and present

Posted on Thursday, May. 14th 2009 by Anthony

As sort of a late birthday present to colormagix, I just wanted to take some time to reflect on the evolution of the colormagix logo and how it has changed over the course of two years. I still find it a bit humorous that I created colormagix over two years ago :D . As you can see, and experienced if you’ve been a visitor throughout this time period, colormagix has had quite a few logo design changes.

Number 1

logo1

This is probably one of the first logos that colormagix ever had, the original colormagix consisted of nothing more that gray text saying “colormagix”. Unfortunately the original colormagix files were lost in a hard drive failure. The good thing about that situation was that it forced me to add some color, to the colormagix logo.

Number 2

logo2

The logo you see above was one of the earlier renditions that had the classic blue and red clashing color schemes. This was also the first logo to feature the colormagix star.

That logo was a bit over the top in terms of neatness, it looked almost two “typographical, if that is a word. It probably isn’t but who cares :D . Anyway, so the new concept used a rounder font, included some thick shadows, and the star was removed.

Number 3

logo3

The updated logo left a lot to be desired, so once  again the logo was modified. This new logo took the best of the previous logo’s (minus the underline), and created something that was acceptable, yet appealing. (The original version was much larger).

Number 4

logo4

Once again it came time to improve the logo, the previous logo had a decent look to it, but it seemed a bit washed, the previous logo also forced an entire website redesign. That being the case a long with the newest logo came a website color, and layout change. The current colormagix logo combines all the strengths of the previous logo, but adds a little more oomph, if you will.

It’s kind of funny as I sit here typing this I look back at colormagix, and all the updates this website has gone through, all the changes, all the adjustments, and I can’t help but feel proud. Colormagix may have been my first website, but it really is one of the best.

Effort to bring life into the blog!

Posted on Thursday, May. 14th 2009 by Anthony

Remember how I said a few months back that I was going to bring life back into the blog? Well yea… about that… I’ve been busy. I’ve had a lot of things under my belt. But now I can seriously get back to doing what I enjoy doing, and that’sworking on colormagix.  If you read some other post you might be aware of the changes that have taken place as of late, (the website news is now apart of the blog). This sort of forces me to come to blog and edit everything from time to time. So expect more posting from me, and please comment, as I’m interested in hearing what you all have to say.

Tutorial Updates

Posted on Saturday, Mar. 28th 2009 by Anthony

After creating the new Make a Favicon tutorial I decided it was about time that I began to work on redoing the tutorials. Don’t get me wrong, I personally like the touch of having all the tutorials flash powered, but they work better just being in standard html  (They work better with the search engines that way too :D ). So I’ve taken the time to update: Draw Chibi Link Tutorial and the Draw Anime Eye Tutorial.

This is basically the first wave of updates, I will be doing more with time.

2 years old and doing great!

Posted on Wednesday, Jan. 7th 2009 by Anthony

It’s hard to believe that colormagix evolved from being a simple concept to full fledged websites with a larger audience then I could have ever imagined. We’ve come a long way from the very begining. That being the case it’s about time I made a another big change, and this time it’s happening today! The entire colormagix website now looks like, this..

colormagix-website

It’s a huge improvement over the previous design. This looks a lot more modern and more professional. The site also now loads faster, because of how it’s coded and designed. Overall I think the update turned out great and very proud of it.

New web design

Posted on Saturday, May. 24th 2008 by Anthony

Hi guys remember that update I was promising several months ago, well it’s in progress. The first think you are going to notice is that the site layout has been modified and follows some of the more web 2.0 rules and strategy. The update is not complete but we are off to a great start. Keep checking the site for more updates.

Here is what it looks like now.

Goku Breeze Sprite Sheet

Posted on Sunday, Dec. 9th 2007 by Anthony

I just wanted to show off my work with my goku breeze character by letting everyone view my progress and development.  We have goku in front view doing some of his most famous attacks. There will be more to come in time, it’s just a matter of me sitting down and actually taking the time to do it. Also I will be developing a how to sprite goku breeze tutorial shortly. So check it out when I add it.

RPG Maker VX

Posted on Friday, Dec. 7th 2007 by Anthony

RPG Maker has impacted the gaming industry greatly since its release in 1988. For those that do not know what RPG Maker is, it is a program which allows users to design their own role-playing game. The interface of the program is simple and intuitive, which is why it is highly praised til this day. The newest edition of RPG Maker, RPG Maker VX, is scheduled to be released on February 2008 in the United States. The same basic features as its previous versions are still there. However, most of the features have received an improvement. For example, RPG Maker VX contains a more in-depth tileset/autotiles system. The tileset graphics have also received a re-vamp and are brand new. Moreover, RPG Maker VX’s previous versions have all ran in 30FPS. This time, it will run at 60FPS. This means that the animations in game will run a lot faster and smoother. All in all, RPG Maker VX still carries the same feel as its previous versions with just modifications to the program’s features. Users that have used RPG Maker before will feel right at home as its interface will still be the same.
