Draw Anime Face Tutorial

Introduction

This tutorial will teach you how to draw a basic anime face. This tutorial mainly focuses on drawing a female face, but the same rules and process can be applied to drawing a male face. You can follow this tutorial in any drawing program or on a piece of ordinary paper. This tutorial was made to be as simple as possible so that you can properly grasp the properties of drawing anime faces.

Needed Materials
Graphic Creating Software
Basic Computer Skills
Black Color Palette (optional)

Step One

In this tutorial you will learn how to draw a generic and basic anime face. The steps will be featured in order from start to finish. I used black in order to create the images featured in this tutorial, you can follow this tutorial using any color that you like.

Step Two

Everything in drawing starts of with simple shapes. For the head we will be using a circle. The circle foes not have to be perfect. All you need is a nice round shape.

Step Three

This is a pretty simple step, and all that is needed to draw the face. With anime characters the face is usually very pointy. For females the face has a bit more of a delicate curve. Males have a stronger more defined face altogether.

Step Four

Now it's time to erase tje bottom part of the circle from step 3. You dont need it anymore. Now we have to draw a cross along your character's face. These will be your guidelines. Most of a characters facial features will fall into place with these guidelines.

Step Five

In this step we will use the guidlines from the previous step to place the basic shapes of the eyes, eyebrows, mouth and nose.

Step Six

Now for this step we will simply add in two lines toward the bottom of the head so that the neck is created.

Step Seven

This is the final step, all you have to do is add some hair, and the pupils to the eyes. There you have it, you now know how to draw a basic anime face.
