Draw Chibi Head Tutorial

Introduction

This tutorial will teach you how to draw a basic chibi head. This tutorial mainly focuses on drawing a male chibi head, but the same rules and process can be applied to drawing a female chibi head. You can follow this tutorial in any drawing program or on a piece of ordinary paper. This tutorial was made to be as simple as possible so that you can properly grasp the properties of drawing chibi heads.

Needed Materials
Graphic Creating Software
Basic Computer Skills
Black Color Palette (optional)

Step One

We start out with drawing out a simple face, you can do this easily by just drawing a round circle.

Step two:

In this step all we do is create the guidlines that will serve as a placement guide for our characters head.

Step Three:

Every head needs a neck to support it, you can draw a rather simple neck by just using two slightly curved lines. Look at my image below as an example.

Step Four:

Using your guidelines and neck placement creat the acutual face/jaw line. The face should actually portrude within the circle as it was just a guide, the actualy face is not 100% round.

Step Five:

This is where we add inthe eyes, well the eye placement actually, your chibi head is going to need to beable to have to have eyes, so just start with the framework eyes as shown below.

Step Six:

In this step we cover a lot of details and a lot of things. The first thing we did was actually create the circles of the eyes and extend the edges out a bit. We also added in the cliche anime style mess of spikey hair, you can make your's look however you want.

Step Seven:

In this step all we did was clean up all the guidelines present in the previous step. And there you have it, you now have a nice little chibi head.
