Learn to Draw A Turtle Tutorial

Step One

Okay today we will be learning how to create a turtle. Well before we begin it’s a good idea to plan out the colors that we are going to need. I have chosen Black, Emerald, Goldenrod, and White. These colors and many more can be found in the color library.

If you don't want to use these color palletes, you can browse our Color library to choose your own.

Step two:

Using the Emerald Color palette select the 6th color to create rough outline of the turtles head. Just as simple shape will do, its basically a circle, with a little dip, and a neck.

Step Three:

This step isn’t that hard to figure out, use the third color to fill in the head.

Step Four:

Now we are going to switch palettes and choose the 1st color of the White color palette to create the eyes of our little turtle.

Step Five:

Using the Goldenrod Color Palette select the sixth color to create the basic half flattened circle that will be the base of the shell, while your at it you might as well as fill it in with the third color.

Step Six:

In this step create severall small rectangular shapes that will serve as the legs to our turtle, use the Emerald green color palelte to draw and shade them in.

Step Seven:

Take the sixth color of the Goldenrod Color palette to create and design the pattern that will be on the turtles shell.

Step Eight:

Now we are going to add in some details to the face of the turtle. Use the six color of the Emerald Palette to add in the eyebrows and nostrils.

Step Nine:

This is the part of the tutorial where we begin to add in the shading. Pick the 5th color of the Emerald Palette and add in some shading to the green skin. You can also use the fifth color of the Goldenrod Palette to shade in the shell.

Step Ten:

This is an imprtan step, choose the first and second colors of the Emerald palette to add in the higligts of the turtles head.

Step Eleven:

In this last step take the last color of the black color pallet and draw in the pupils of the eyes. The turtle tutorial has now been complete, and you now know how to create your own little turtle.
